Your Dashboard
Learn how to read and use the PlumBuddy dashboard to monitor your water system at a glance.
What the Dashboard Shows
The dashboard is your home base in the PlumBuddy app. Every time you open the app, you land here. It gives you a real-time snapshot of your entire water system so you can see what is happening without tapping through menus.
At the top of the screen, you will see your favorite valve control. This is the valve you interact with most often, and it gets the most prominent spot for quick access. Below that, you will find device status cards for each connected device.
Valve Status
The main valve card shows whether your water supply is currently open or closed. When the valve is open, water flows normally through your home. When it is closed, no water passes through. You can tap the valve card to toggle it open or closed from anywhere.
The card also shows the current operating mode (Home, Away, or Standby), so you always know what level of protection is active.
Active Alerts
If something needs your attention, it appears at the very top of the dashboard. Active alerts are hard to miss. They show you what triggered the alert, which device detected the issue, and what action was taken (if any). You can tap an alert to see more details and decide what to do next.
Connected Devices
Each device on your property gets its own status card on the dashboard. For valves, you see the open/closed status, the active mode, and the current flow rate. For PlumAssist pucks, you see whether the puck is dry (normal) or wet (leak detected), along with the battery level.
How to Set a Favorite Valve
If you have more than one valve on your property, you can choose which one appears at the top of the dashboard.
- Open the PlumBuddy app and go to the device list.
- Long-press on the valve you want to make your favorite.
- Select Set as Favorite from the menu that appears.
- The selected valve will now appear at the top of your dashboard with the large control.
Your favorite valve is the one you will use most often. For most homeowners, this is the main water supply valve.
Quick Actions from the Dashboard
The dashboard is designed for speed. Here are the most common things you can do without leaving this screen:
- Open or close your valve by tapping the valve control at the top.
- Switch modes by tapping the current mode indicator on the valve card.
- View an alert by tapping any active notification banner.
- Check a sensor by tapping its status card to see details.
Tips for Getting the Most from Your Dashboard
- Check in daily. A quick glance at the dashboard each morning helps you catch issues early. It takes about two seconds.
- Clear resolved alerts. Once you have addressed an alert, clear it from the dashboard so new issues stand out.
- Keep your favorite valve current. If you add a new valve or change your setup, update your favorite so the most important control is always front and center.
- Pay attention to sensor battery levels. The dashboard shows battery status for your PlumAssist pucks. Replace batteries when they get low to avoid gaps in coverage.
